Bottom line, women and men make different choices in life and get different results.

Men tend to make more personal sacrifices for their career than women, and end up earning a higher salary, but spend less time with their kids. Women spend more time with their kids. That time can't be quantified, although it has value. Not everything is about money, as some in the feminist community would have us believe.

Women tend to work jobs that require less technical skills but connect them to people. For example, there are far more women teachers than men and far more male engineers than female.

Since engineering pays better than teaching, men, on average, earn more than women.

HOWEVER, the opportunities are the same. It all about the choices we make that brings inequality.

Because men and women are different. Even brain structures are different between genders. It's similar to saying why do red delicious apples sell more than golden delicious apples? They're both apples right? I think the term equality has issues in this instance.

Men still earn more than women.
Women still do the bigger share of chores at home.
Because women are having children, their superannuation will be less than men's superannuation and they tend to end up living their old age with less money then men while their livespan is longer.
Much more poverty among women than men.

Because men and women are different. Why do they have to be equal in all things? They never can be. They each bring their skills, their attributes, their talents to the table. Why not be glad they are different and have the wonderful ability to balance each other, and meld into a great team, with seeing things from a different viewpoint that has just as much value as the other. It's not lesser, just different.

Because people mistake euallity with being the same. Men and women are different and excell in different ways. If we treated men like men and women like women these differences would enhance both and both would benifit from it.

Because we're different. Simple as that. The way I see it, women create life, men destroy it. Not trying to be mean to the men here, I do agree that somebody needs to do the killing.

Because women know that if we let men strut around like they're powerful and all-knowing, it's much easier to keep a handle on them while we're busy running the show behind the scenes.

Because women are way more awesome than men!

No, really it's because of the Agricultural Revolution. If we were all just nomads like we were back in the day, none of this inequality stuff would even exist!

Because men have always sacrifised more than women. Over centuries men have shed their blood and guts fearlessly on the battlefields. When Titanic sunk men made way for women and children to save their lives. And yet women selfishly demand that they be treated equal!

Women and men are not different- people are different. The swooping generalizations and stereotypes attributed to each gender is taught to children from as early as possible and people delude themselves into thinking that such diffferences exist and should be aknowledged. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
