Don't turn it off, when you shut down your computer it will go off automatically. Mix 50% water and 50% alcohol in a spray bottle to clean your LCD monitor. Turn the monitor off, then you will be able to see the smudges better. Spray a clean T-shirt very lightly, then rub the screen, you will have the cleanest monitor in the state. It works very well I have been using it on both of my computers for about 4 years now, does a great job. Will NOT damage your screen and dries very fast because of the alcohol. Good Luck..
