You're reading Do you agree with Frank Herbert's observation in the Dune Chronicles that behind the mask of every liberal is an aristocrat and deep down a conservative is someone that would rather no future at all than change?

Ninja man--I expect you'd get more hits on this question. I though everybody loved Dune. My only problem is keeping the characters straight. Especially with the new ones written by Herbert's son. There making new Paul, Jessicas, etc. in tanks and still trying to follow the golden path.

Huh, I didn't know his son had carried on the work. Truely epic though. An outstanding accomplishment not only in sci-fi but in political/religious commentary.

"Sandworms of Dune" by Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson I have it as an audiobook on my Ipod. It is good to hear how the names are pronounced, not the same as what was in my head. They also had a Dune movie. I think they tried to do too much in a short time it would have been better as a serial.

There was a TV mini-series of Children of Dune. They basically combined it with Dune Messiah. Very well done I thought! Aired in 2003 I think...

Really, a TV series, was that in the U.S. or U.K? I never heard of it. I wonder if there's a way to get the satellite SiFi channel to air it.
