IMO, too much of a good thing. A tuxedo involves a lot of visual interest already, as it is. Ruffles, cummerbunds, whatever. Pinstripe just adds more, and it's too much for my eyes to be able to process.

An absolute travisty! If you pinstripe a tux, it will seem less formal giving people the impression that you don't take the situation in the manner it was intended.
