Help answer this question below.
The only people who consider it a valuable resource are those that believe a work of fiction can explain all there is to know about life.
The bible can only ever be a poor second in the advancement of the human race, as it provides shelter for those unable to face the reality of life. Which in itself is a positive achievement. But that is as far`as it should go, to consider it to be a true and factual account is definitely not advancement. It would be more of a retreat into a far less advanced state of mind.
Science. There is no question about it.
Your video is based on logical falicies. The main one being that just because science couldn't PROVE something, doesn't mean we didn't understand it. Another illogical assumption is the dating method. Modern science was persicuted by the church, preventing the publication and transmition of scientific knowledge between scientists, so that it was very difficult to study anyone elses work, and make critiscims, or validate their work. Which is manditory in science before anything can be proven.
.
The earth is not actually a circle, it's a sphere. So either your god is mistaken, or he screwed up his wording.
.
The logical assumption that everything has a begining is proof of nothing more than basic philosophy. And in 1916 Einstein didn't discover the begining of time. He hypothosized the mechanics behind it's creation.
.
The assertion that any of the quoted chapter and verse has anything to do with Thermodynaimcs is an outright lie. God resting, nothing to do with Thermodynamics. The heavenly body's of the moon and planets never passing away, is ludicris due to the fact that they aren't alive. And are destructable even if you want to twist the passage, into something it's not. Next on the list is an intergalacitc role call, nothing to do with physics here. 2nd peter 3:3-7 says nothing about mater or energy. It's just an end of days diatribe. And finally hebrews has once again nothing to do with Thermodynamics.
.
Now I understand the confusion on the 2nd law of thermodynamics, I mean the passage and the law both use the words wear out. But that's the only thing even close to similar about them. Oh and the rest of those c&v are just about the same.
.
The universe expanding, and the universe being expanded to a specific point and then being stopped, actually DISPROVES the bibles accuracy.
.
The assertion that oceanic was only discovered and recorded because of a literal interpritation of the bible is so obviously eronious that I don't even feel the need to dismantle it. Can you even prove the man read the bible?
.
Letting the land rest, every 7th year? Yeah that works. However it's not the most efficient rest/use cycle. Why didn't god give us a better set of numbers? Think it might have anything to do with the sabbath? I mean it does say give the land a sabbath. Maybe it had little to do with crop rotations and more to do with the creationism story?
.
The dimensions of the ark are not consistant with having anywhere near enough room for 1 of every species on earth, let alone 2, food and water supplies, and everything else needed.
.
Yes how would anyone know that circumscision on the 8th day was best? Must be god, couldn't have been trial and error. Next!
.
Germs weren't understood, but quarentines and safe handling of remains of corpses and human waste were realitively easily understood. When I'm around sick people, I get sick, so we need to stay away from each other. As for the rules about handling the dead and bodily fluids, would you want to live with the remains of people, or their excretions when there's a possibility they could make you sick? No? I wouldn't either. But lets look at a similar time frame with a non-christian culture. Native Americans also understood quarentines, and proper handling of infected materials, such as corpses and bodily fluids. I guess that proves their gods are real too. Or that people weren't as stupid as we'd like to believe.
.
Now for the prophesy argument. Show me a prophecy that couldn't be faked. In fact half a dozen people between the OT and NT fullfilled most if not all of the OT prophesies. Why weren't they the true son of god?
.
Issah provides propecies for ANYONE. If I were to meagerly die and claim it's for your sins, I'd fullfill that propecy too. Thatit MUST be jesus is just wishful thinking.
.
But maybe you're right. What were the rules for owning a slave again? I mean I'd love to be able to use the bible to justify that heinous crime against humanity. Oh wait I can. Not everything in the bible is true, right, just, or sane. In fact most of it isn't.
I don't think you should compare these two. You aren't comparing two scientists like who's more advance Newton or Einstein etc...
Well, I heard Steven Hawkings talking about the beginning of the universe. Hawking is the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. He is well respected.
He said that in the beginning there was nothing and then suddenly, there was a single "string" of energy. That single string gave birth to more strings of energy and those formed quartz. the quartz then formed electrons, protons and so on. That, in turn, formed atoms and atoms into molecules.
So, as I understood him he said that in the beginning there was nothing, and then there was "light." Where did the light come from? No one "scientifically" has answered that one. Biblically, "God said, "Let there be light..."
I would say the Biible is more advance.
