Being direct, straightforward and to the point usually is a good way to approach things...when is it better to use the indirect approach?

    I learned a long time ago that it seems best to be forthcoming when giving good news! When delivering very bad news, it is sometimes better not to give a lot of detail at first, as the hearer could be overcome by grief or anguish at the shock ...

    Christ didn't blatantly burst out things straight off, but gave the apostles what they needed. One of my teachers in science did the same. Having to go over something different caused a few grumbles, but to have to explain it in such detail, we would have all gone home. Sometimes there is a time to dish out in measurable sizes, and well-presented.
