  • I do that all the time, just curious of what Im able to produce i guess
  • This is an awesome question! One of those 'We all know it happens but we don't really mention it' things. Anyways, it's probably no different than why people look in the toilet after finishing their 'sit down' buisness...just checking to make sure the body is getting rid of the right stuff, I suppose.
  • They're looking for nuggets.
  • Yuck. This is a funny question...I do it too. Why? I have no idea.
  • I never realized I did that but now thinking about it I do it and have no idea why! Just to make sure everything is "all clear" I guess.
  • I always check it to see if my nasal passage is working properly. I just wanna make sure im not blowing out any bloody product.
  • bloody boogers could be a sign of sinus infection- so we look.
  • I don't think that they are looking for boogers as much as checking the color of the "snot". If it is certain colors, it means you have a deeper infection.
  • I look for pieces and parts that should not be there. I have had a deviated septum operated on and had the most interesting discharges from the nasal cavities. Now I look for curiosity's sake.
  • I look if Im sick.
  • Out of morbid curiosity.
  • To see if they need to salvage any brain-matter.
  • so they can match that color with paint and redo the kitchen.
  • Why wouldn't you? It would be good to know whether your snot is yellow or green - sign of infection - or just clear - allergy etc. Question for you - do you look at your tp after you wipe your ass - or do you believe that your clean without seeing?
  • cause the bigger the better, size matters
  • just to make sure that i am not producing any blood along with it and that i am not suffering from nose cancer.. lol =)) what a se*y question!
  • I do it to see what color it is. Because if its green I better go to the doctor because its probably a nasty Sinus infection, or something coming on. If its clear its just allergies, and if there is blood I better watch out for a bloody nose!
  • To see if there is more room on the tissue to blow out some more.
  • To be proud of what they have done. Same reason why people also look into the toilet before they flush
  • You have to see what was in there lol
  • The same reason that people look after they have done a number 2. its a combination of grossness, stupidity and curiosity.
  • instinct. we check our bodies byproducts because they give us indications as to our current health if we know how to dicipher those clues yellow boogers with no blood = normal green boogers = infection of some sort blood = pickin too much, high blood pressure...etc same goes for the colour of urine colour, odour and texture of fecal matter.
  • I personally think it's due to our upbringing - our parents most likely did it when they got us to 'blow hard' just to check and see if there's anything there they should be worried about. Also, the colour of boogers tells alot about the health of the individual - green for instance isn't a good colour for boogers. In fact bright green or bright yellow are pretty awful colours (I think). So it's force of habit, part fascination - like , and I hate to say it, how some people wipe their behinds and then check the paper to see if they need to wipe more or if their poo is a healthy colour / texture. I know gross right?
  • I don't look, EWW
  • TO look for gold that could have got stuck up their nose! I think its just a habit - like when we look at the remains on the toilet paper after wiping - just habit!
  • I guess it's just one of those things people do, but don't really know they are doing. But mainly to see if there's anything weird going on, like blood or brain matter, LOL.
  • They want to see if there is any brain matter that they blew out.
  • For the same reason pick their noses in traffic. . .they just do. Who knows! Ewwww.
  • You look to see if you're okay or if you have an infection as well as curiosity. I look to make sure the two brain cells I've got in there aren't trying to escape.
  • Don't know but i'll look into it for you.
  • They want to see what is really up inside their heads.
  • tee hee hee...guilty as charged... i get great satisfaction of getting it all out of my way and breating free again...and so look at it, so see the offending party.
  • why not.
  • ha this is funny but i guess we all do it ...well i doo it do !
  • uggg...thats gross...but i gues just curiosity!!!
  • haha..funny one..well probally because, even though nobody admits it, everybody picks their nose and maybe humans are just too curious for their own good..:]]
  • Because their gross.
  • its a instant message sent from your brain, if your unsure or how much you blew out you have to check. its a lack of consentration in a way
  • Sick human fascination with every disgusting thing we do...
  • To confirm that what they felt was in their nose is now in the tissue.
  • Let me recommend to you a book; it's by Julia Kristeva and it's called Powers of Horror: An Essay on Abjection. It's a matter of both satisfaction/fascination and abjection; according to Kristeva, it represents 'borderlessness'; the inside/outside of the body; it is both. Here's a quote: '...with blood and pus, or the sickly, acrid smell of sweat, of decay, does not signify death. In the presence of signified death - a flat encephalograph, for instance - I would understand, react, or accept. No, as in true theater, without makeup or masks, refuse and corpses show me what I permanently thrust aside in order to live. These body fluids, this defilement, this shit are what life withstands, hardly and with difficulty, on the part of death. There, I am at the border of my condition as a living being. My body extricates itself, as being alive, from that border. Such wastes drop so that I might live, until, from loss to loss, nothing remains in me and my entire body falls beyond the limit -- cadere, cadaver. If dung signifies the other side of the border, the place where I am not and which permits me to be, the corpse, the most sickening of wastes, is a border that has encroached upon everything. It is no longer I who expel. "I" is expelled. The border has become an object. How can I be without border?'

  • They want to see if they have a sinus infection or not.. if it's allergies, a regular cold, or maybe something more serious. By the way, even then, they dont ALWAYS check the tissue. Especially not in public..
  • Because we can't believe that often something so small can literally stop us from breathing through our noses properly!
  • We like to see the yummies that come from within...
  • Because it looks nice. What do you think?
  • Because it looks nice. What do you think?
  • i guess to see if they have like odd coloured boogers, like sometimes, after easter i eat alot of food colouring and i pee green, it fascinates me, maybe people wanna see pink, and orange and blue boogers?
  • They might be just interested to see what came out of their nose.
  • It's...it's beautiful, man! Look at all the pretty colors! I made that!
  • To see what color it is- clear is healthy, any other color, not so much....
  • I think it's to ensure that it was a successful/productive blow.
  • I do it because it FASCINATES me!
  • TO MAKE SURE THEIR BRAIN HASN'T COME OUT..
  • They are trying to make sure they didnt BLOW OUT ANY BRAIN CELLS. It is an automatic response for self preservation.
  • I guess to see if anything interesting comes out... Why do people look at their dook in the toilet? Maybe to make sure everything is still in working order. When I was younger I even took a flake off of my scalp and put itunder a microscope...I think there is just a fascination with the human anatomy. I would love to stick a boog under a microscope.
  • I do it to see if I blew my nose and it didn't pretend to. Sometimes, it makes the noise but nothing happens. Also to check if it's normal snot and not discolored or blood.
  • To make sure it looks right. Might find my brain in the tissue somewhere.
  • To make sure they are out of your nose????
  • To see if you got that boogie out that's been bugging you for the last five minutes
  • To see if anything unusual is in there (like a green bean, a fly, a hair)
  • To see what came out - make sure it's not some weird color or bloody or whatever.
  • Cuz they want 2 know wat it looks like. rofl!
  • self-diagnosis
  • To see if they blew smooth or chunky style.
  • I look into my tissue because i know that a cold is almost over when the mucus gets yellow and thicker. ..Well, you asked for it.
  • I do it to see what color my snot is. If it's green, then I know I'm REALLY sick.
  • hahaha because they want to see what they got out of it. I personally do not blow my nose. I think it makes matters worse.
  • Uh, not intentionally. Those nasal nuggets aren't worth the time to inspect for grades of booger quality.
  • This is going to sound disgusting, but I do. I have chronic sinus infections, so I have to look for blood to make sure Im not developing another. Yuk.
  • Sometimes but only when I am sick to see the shade/tint of the snot to see if I am getting any better.
  • I check it out... gotta see if you made any new textures or colors. LOL
  • not all the time, but when i'm sick i check to see if i have an infection
  • Yes, and I have noticed that the claim that Puff makes against Kleenex is true. They are stronger! Kleenex will be perforated by my nose blowing action, but Puff won't. A true advertisement...sometimes quite uncommon.
  • Absolutely, how else will I know that I "got it"? Also, I look in the toilet after twosies, to make sure I'm not suffering from a bleeding ulcer or something. Looking is one way to keep a check on your health.
  • Of course. I am all about productivity.
  • To see if there is any blood or small animal life!
  • This question is right up there with all the other important things in life to ponder....like...how DID those xmas tree lights get all tangled up in the attic over the summer.....no matter how neat you put them away....OR...why did Mrs Howell from Gilligans Island take all those clothes for a three hour trip?? lol...
  • I know it disgusts me too, but what is even worse is when my husband picks and then plays with it rolling it around and around and then flicks across the room. yuk
  • I do it, because I get nose bleeds a lot, so I always look to see if theres blood so I know what is to come.
  • To make sure nothing living came out of your nose.
  • I do it to see if I'm bleeding or not (I get nosebleeds often.) It's nasty, but I think that's a valid reason to do it!
  • There is snot any good answer for that
  • they do???
  • i look at my boogers to see how bad my sinus' r. the greener the snot the worse off ur infection is. i dont always feel the headaches . . . lol. i get ochular migranes. i get partial blindness.
  • I use to look because I was amazed with the pretty colors and the amount that comes out. But now I do it because my doctor asks me what color is my mucous.
  • to see what color it is to make sure your not really sick?
  • Perhaps they are hungry and are looking over the crop.
  • not sure but i think its gross
  • because the doctor wants to know what color they are.
