I don't know of any online groups, but I can look them up for you. I'm sure they're there, I've just never checked. But I CAN be there for you personally. I can email you, check in with you, and make myself available to you every time you have a craving, if that is something that would help you.

If you just get rid of something you will be overwhelmed by its absence, and most likely go back to it. So get another habit to put in the place of smoking. That could be exercise, a new hobby, anything active that you can pick up when you get the urge. You are basically replacing one habit with another.

It depends on you. When I quit smoking I bought a bag of dum dum lollipops. It helped me with the constant hand to mouth thing. I know people who have taken up working out, gone to meetings, had hypnosis, quit cold turkey etc. You have to figure out what will work best for you.

Stop buying them! Throw out all you have left, all of your lighters and ashtrays. When you get a craving, brush your teeth, do jumping jacks, or suck on a minty lifesaver! Don't drink alcohol for a couple of weeks. Enjoy the smell of your clean hair and fresh breath- somethimg smokers don't have! Avoid friends who smoke for a few weeks. Supposedly the first 3 days are the hardest and I think that was true for me... I felt really out of shape and unhealthy so I liked to do jumping jacks until I was out of breath to remind me why I wanted to quit! But what ended up working for me ultimately? Getting pregnant! There's always that! Haha! Good luck!

Its not easy.. im a smoker too and have just this week been to the doctor for a prescription for Champix to help me stop smoking. I havent managed to 'cash' the prescription in yet as i know then i really have to stop! I - like you, really want to stop but ive been doing it for so long its like a comfort blanket. Its a terrible, expensive, filthy habit i know, but we all have our faults... why dont we try to stop together and help each other along? are you going to stop with the help of some anti smoking gum or something, or are you going 'cold turkey'? How many do you smoke a day??
