  • Because like Dr. Spock they value logic over all else, while Christians value belief over logic. This is not to say that either is "right" they just have different values.
  • Some atheists (like some Christians) can be very preachy. Also, I don't think it's uncommon among atheists to feel antagonised by religious people! They think we're gonna burn in hell for all eternity, which in itself is quite nasty if you ask me.
  • lack of tolerence. Does not say much for them.
  • They think it is dumb to believe in something that can't be proved true, and they enjoy making sure that everyone else knows that they think it's dumb. Not all atheists do this, though. Some are very respectful of others beliefs.
  • The answers to that are as varied as why religious people are often antagonistic toward atheists/agnostics. For some, it's because they grew up in a time when they were not allowed or able to live openly as atheists, or they were forced to practice a particular religion as children and are suffering the effects from that. Some others simply don't like religious people or are tired of being confronted by them. Some, though I personally haven't met any, are truly hateful.
  • Because nobody wants to have somebody else push their beliefs on them. Athiests and Agnostics don't usually go around preaching Godlessness. Christians on the other hand, are supposed to preach to others. While this seems like doing something good, from the Christian view point, it can be annoying as hell to the rest of us. Also, personally, I cannot tolerate the fact that Christians want Christianity written into government policy. This is a place where there is freedom of religion. We should be able to practice whatever religion we choose, even if that choice is "none of the above".
  • Retaliation to judgment. So you're probably thinking "Well I don't judge people...", but you are only one christian.....There is a whole community of hateful, self righteous religious nuts. I was once told I was going to hell because I was eating ice cream (I was at a restaurant) instead of being at church worshiping.
  • I don't know and I don't know how I would know what you believe unless you are pushing your agenda. I really don't care what you believe - I am totally indifferent. I can't not for others.
  • how about the crusades, Vlad, Constantanople, the inquesition, too numerouse genecides , Challeger, Chernoble, 911 and it goes on year after year after year religion dressed up politics I could go on but I'm tired, and I wont mention my own personal experiences with all these nut balls, and I used to be tolerant but no more take your religions and go home and stay there and we will mind our own .. and that is not unreasonable to ask .. ~Nemo~
