  • I think its just because people are finding it hard in the recession and with not having jobs many people are turning to material comforts more as they sacrifice their aspirations. :-(
  • Because we are (and I ain't prod of it, I try to change it, yet it's not quite easy when everything's run on... money)
  • Because you need money to do a lot of things. Good and bad. It's just a harsh reality. Think about all the things you like to do, or want to do, then think about how you can do them.
  • Money makes the world go round.
  • its our human greed, sefishness, and envy...we let these eomtions get the best of us and ignore what its enslavement to it makes us become....we never have enough....we got to have more and more for ourself.....and envying and striving to have all the Jones"s do and the POWER it gives ourself too.....it gives a person great PRIDE in "hisself"....power and pride....thatsJustme:)
  • because its the most important thing in life
  • It's because a lot of people know find themselves in lifestyles they like, and with spouses and kids who also like that same lifestyle, and the only way to keep up is to have the cake. If you have a nice four-bedroom house with two decent cars and a couple of kids, and you like supporting the arts and having the kids in hockey and violin plus dance and piano on the weekends, it reeeally adds up. Plus a lot of people pay through the roof for childcare. Some people are slaves to money because they're greedy, but a fair number of them are just trying to have the best for themselves and their families.
  • I know, it's terrible. I am a slave to money too but more to pay the bills and do fun things with the kids. Plus, when things are going badly, a little shopping makes things feel a little bit better.
  • Simply because you need it for practically anything you want to do and have. Money is not the most important thing in life, but it's way ahead of whatever's second.
  • Because it gets and keeps a roof over your head, keeps your children from starving, and makes sure you have clothing to wear. As fun as it would be to barter for these things, it just doesn't work.
  • Cuz they dont realize "there is always enough" but it comes with downsizing, being content, giving, budgeting...and a positive outlook. Me and my husband have been outta work for.......sheesh, 2 months? 3 months? I dont even remember. We get unemployment....but that is it, no government help besides that...no stamps, nothing. And we didnt even really have that much saved or anything. LoL. But weve had everything paid, went on a vacation (since were both off)...taken the kids places, got em neato stuff...and pretty much do what we want... and something always happens...to keep us at "enough"...when we start to run low, im more than sure...it will be ok. Its always ok, We are always provided for...as long as we keep the faith. And I have it. Money is the last thing on either of our minds...and when I start to worry alittle he just reminds me "Has there never been enough"....n I say no. Dont be a slave to money.....Remember, it is not everything. and worry will never help the situation.
  • No way , My money works for me.
  • We begin our adult lives in debt, and spent the majority of our lives working to pay it off - morgage etc. The whole world runs on the basis of debt. Everytime the American Government takes money out of the Federal Reserve to pay for something else - its a debt to be paid back. If governments are constantly in a cycle of debt (or slave to money) generally, so are its citizens.
  • we are slaves for money, when we break that cycle than the whole world will know what it's like to be free.
  • Because it's an unfortunate necessity.
  • You need a minimum amount of the stuff to put a roof over your head, pay the bills, buy the food and take care of your family. The only time you become a slave to money is if however much you have is never enough and you want more and more and more and more and more and more and more and then when you have more you're still not happy. :)
  • it's necessary for survival in an economy based society so naturally, you'll need it to buy things, to invest in things, to profit, or to waste it's indispensable
  • Because we are. If we don't work, then we don't have somewhere to live, something to drive, clothes to wear, and food to eat. That's just the way it is and it's never gonna change.
  • The worldly have always been a slave to the material!
  • because money makes the world go around - they even made a song about it!
  • At least in the U.S., we can thank Madison Avenue!
