What was the fundamental faith of Arabic people before the Koran or Mohammed came along? please give references...

• thank you, i know of Ishamel, Abrahams son by Hagar & Isaac/Israel...Ishmael's half brother...i believe Hagar was an Egyptian ,pagan heritage herself....but recognized God (gen.16:13)
  the Bible also tells of Ishmael descendants and of God's Promise to make a "nation" of Ishmael also...and how Ishmael would be ..
  God: "NO, not Ishmael" (gen.17:19 ) "BUT I will bless him also,just as u have asked ME to" (v.20)...BUT ..."MY contact is with Isaac" of the Promise..(gen. 21)
  Ishmaels blessing ..gen. 21:12&17...a great nation but NOT the nation of the Promise...grew up in wilderness, a great archer ,and many descendants..no mentions of a prophet or a promise through Ismael...

• and Mr. Fix It...this wikipedia sites states "circumstances forced Abraham to send Hagar and Ishmael away" ...It totally evades that "God TOLD" Abraham to send them away...because Ishamel was not the son of the Promise to him and Sarah.....i think this is totally ignored by the descendants of Ishmael.....there was no Promise except that he would have many descendants ...which is obvious today.....but don't they acknowledge the Torah, the first five books of Moses...?

• Actually, a devout muslim will regard such books, but a problem has been that man tampered with the scriptures. It is true that today we have more accurate understanding than back then, due to excavations, language and other discoveries, but still, it has been a stumbling block, thanks to corrupt twists and teachings. It must be remembered that Mohommad didn't arrive on the scene until about 500 years after Christ. There are genuine people there, who are truly wanting to serve God. Islam means submission, and this is what most are trying to do, be submissive to God. I am not a muslim, but still, it is what it means. The problem comes with what the bible warns about, the antichrist. And this is not the muslim individual, as the one who turns people away from Christ sometimes has the name of Christ blasphemingly on its title. Many people reject Christ because of the teachings of religion. Lots of religious leaders are responsible, just as in Christ's day.

• The bible said in thessalonians about the antichrist that it was already there. So we know it isn't muslim people, because they weren't even there. Still, it is interesting that the apostle spoke of it, and mentioned that there were things in place working as a restraint. The restraint was actually him and other apostles. When they died, this false religion spread, and engulfed true christianity. Hence, why we have so-called christian days with other things attached. Look at easter. Did you know that easter is almost the pronunciation of the false god it is named after? Ishtar? Astarte? Who is it? The goddess of fertility, symbolised by a rabbit. Things like this.
