I was planning a 1st birthday party for my daughter on the day before her birthday(actual b-day falls on Mother's Day)and another family member(aware of daughter's b-day) has planned their baby shower for the same day, should I be expected to change date?

    It's no sense fighting over it. She got in first and even if it could possibly be miscontrued as a little nassssty, just smile and let her have her day. Your little girl is only 1 and will be just as happy whenever she has her birthday.

    Baby showers are pretty important to family members. I would shift the birthday party so everyone can enjoy both days. You'll smell like a rose for doing so.

    Who planned the day first? Like, officially chose that day as in organised things for that day first? I think that neither has any great urgency, whoever got in first wins.

    You might just have to have your daughters the day after Mums day? :(
