Flies and other insects have a primitve heart which is in the form of a tube and is located in the abdomen. It pumps body fluid, called hemolymph, up to the head. Other auxiliary pumps move the fluid to other parts of the insect's body.
Insects have a nervous system that is based on ganglia, or bundles of nerves that occur throughout the body. The three main ganlia in the head are fused to form the brain, or supraesophageal ganglion. This is connected to other ganglia by nerves.
