Well, many who are in the radio scanning hobby enjoy knowing what the codes are for their local places so they can better understand what they are listening to for their hobby.

I understand. But different areas may indeed use different codes. Code 1000 may mean a stock associate is needed for a customer carry out or code 100 may mean management is needed for customer assistance. I have been in some stores and never heard a call like that.
