  • I am not a lawyer, but from the research I did the age one is considered an adult in MO. is 18, which means if you move out before that age your parents can ask for a court order to have you returned home. You could seek emancipation at age 17, which means you will be responsible for supporting yourself including shelter, food, and medical care. Added: What little information I was able to find on the specifics of emancipation, it is not easy if the parents are not agreeable. Your school councilor may be able to help you find some information, there. I don't know the reason you wish to move away from your parents, but from my standpoint, short of being abused at home, it looks best to just try to get along as best as you can and tough it out until you are 18 and can legally go off on your own if you wish. If you are being abused, tell a trusted adult right away!
  • Yesn u can i plan to in a couple weeks and have talked to a whole lot of officers so that i dont get in trouble. they can try and stop but all u have to do is request for two stand by officers to come escort u so u can get all of your stuff
  • You asked if you can legally move out when you are 17. No. In Missouri you are not an adult until you are 18. Since you asked this almost two years ago, at age 19 you can move where ever you would like :)
  • you cannot wait until you have reach the age of 18
  • To be honest Im not 100% sure if u can be 17 and move out, but when i was 16, a month before my 17th birthday I moved out with out being emancipated. My parents called the police. The police did come pick me up, the officer that picked me up told me that i could move out at 17 and the police would not classify me as a runaway and would not respond to any calls to come pick me up. Unfortunately I was in lock down on my birthday. Hope everything works out for you!
