Yes I know quite a few Pilots especially of light planes. A friend of mine runs Monarch one of the Tourist Airlines that takes people out over the Grand Canyon.
I used to go sometimes but i was bad for business I used to fall asleep .It is so big how long can you look at a hole in the ground.

A very old guy took me up in his plane 20 years ago.He radioed for a landing strip in Lynwood NJ and got a clearance. After we landed the people on the field came out screaming. The autorization had come from Atlantic City. They wanted to ground him but didn't.We could have crashed into another plane. I was scared and stayed there. I called a friend in AC to pick me up and ge drove me home. I hear the old guy who is maybe 90 is still flying.

My nephew is attending Dowling College on Long Island in the Flight Program. He loves it, did his first few solo flights a few weeks ago. He told me there is no other feeling like it. I'm very proud of him!
