"White and Nerdy" by Weird Al. It's a send up of Ridin' Dirty... another great fun song by Weird Al.

it was a country song about a girl who thought some guy's tractor was sexy. i thought it was a joke, but i was wrong... which made it that much more funny.

- really? interesting... does this mean there's an indie scene for country? or maybe you just listen to the older stuff... i guess johnny cash might be considered country music and i like him.

- Johnny Cash - and there is sort of an indie scene for country. Look into stuff like Whiskeytown (Ryan Adams's old band), Uncle Tupelo, Neko Case...if you're interested let me know and I'll get you a comprehensive list!

- Yeah I noticed this too. I absolutely despised country music, but after getting close to a girl who's whole family were country fans, I found there were some artists who didn't get much radio play who actually had some talent. Country radio on the other hand is just another style of pop radio. Most of it has zero creativity or innovation.

Frank's Wild Years, by Tom Waits.

"Well Frank settled down in the Valley
and hung his wild years
on a nail that he drove through
his wife's forehead
he sold used office furniture
out there on San Fernando Road
and assumed a $30,000 loan
at 15 1/4 % and put down payment

It's not so much what he says as how he says it.
In a very dry, almost bored sounding voice that hardly even qualifies as singing.
