They probably have the right to ban you at will, regardless of whether you did anything or not. It's their system, they can pretty much do anything they want.

You signed the EULA to play the game. I am familiar with Steam. Its well within their right to ban you even if you were not cheating.

It's a privately owned service and you agreed to the terms on their EULA upon signing up. A EULA is a contract, and you agreed to the terms on it. If you read the EULA I'm sure you'll find something similar to: "Valve reserves the right to terminate/ban any user for any reason." So yeh, they could ban you for no reason at all if they want to.

The laws in the US that would apply to this situation (freedom of speech, the right to due process, etc.) only apply to actions by governments. A private company has the right to manage its affairs in whatever ways it sees fit, unless there is some law that prevents them, and there does not appear to be here. When you accepted their terms of service and rules for participation, you acknowledged their right to take this action. Sorry.
