    In the early Cambrian period, some 525 million years ago. This was part of the so-called Cambrian explosion -- the 'big bang of biology' -- during which many diverse phyla and body plans of multicellular organisms emerged in a relatively short time.

    As it stands right now, an Australian find dates to 560 millions of years ago that takes the current crown.

    This period would be the early Cambrian.

    Just like it explains in the KJV of the bible...Opps! I guess not.
