Customer service

Question:

If there is a "good" side to our lousy world-wide economy, it may be that people who still have jobs appreciate them and don't complain/badmouth/moan. Customer service is much better as well. Everyone appreciates everyone more. Is that your experience?

Very much so. Never in all my days have I had the kind of friendly customer service from a Home Depot employee as I have enjoyed lately. "Everyone appreciates everyone more." I think you're right, I think the economy has shown people how closely they are related. Suddenly it becomes clear that you could be standing in a bread line tomorrow, right next to the Jones you were competing with yesterday.

Exactly, m'dear. Thank you for your answer tuvw and Happy Tuesday! It is kinda sad that it takes a world-wide recession/depression to bring out the best in people but those with jobs constantly tell you how blessed they feel, which is a nice change from all the typical complaints "I'm underpaid, they don't appreciate me, my boss is a jerk" yadayadayada! :)

Absolutely, whenever I have a bad day at work, or think about taking a day off, just because, I think about all the people (including my husband) who are having a horrible time finding a job. It does make me put more effort into doing a better job.
I can't say that in our area customer service has improved though, but hopefully soooooon!!!

Hi, Kay. Sorry your husband is having a difficult time finding a job. Those who have them are lucky indeed and those with whom I've come in contact as their customer notice a difference in attitude! Thank you for your answer my friend and Happy Tuesday! :) ((hugs))
