I don't know... I doubt it. I think he has just reached his peak. He turned pro 11 years ago, that is such a long time. He is still absolutely amazing at his game, and don't forget he is still ranked number 2, he isn't plumeting. There is new, younger blood to contend with now though. It is a shame to see him lose his position though, he is my favourite by a mile.

Maybe... I also just think it has to do with him getting older...27... I know. Doesn't sound old, but when your talking about professionals ... he's getting on up there. It just is weird to watch a Federer match AND see him make a mistake. He played nearly close to PERFECT tennis... just 2 years ago. He had an excellent run... and continues to play extremely well... He's just not "as" consistent. I still think he's number 1 though... he just wants to "have" a life.

If anything, it seems to have helped him. He's now won the French and Wimbledon and regained the number one ranking.
