Yes, I was in Kindergarten and I got yelled at a few times for reading chapters ahead of what we were supposed to be working on. I was and still am a speed reader. :)

Yes. When I was younger I always loved reading. I loved to go to the library and get out a whole bunch of books all the time. My parents taught me to read before kindergarten and I still love reading today.

I LOVE to read! I don't know what I would do if I was stuck somewhere without a book or magazine to read. I even carry a couple of extra books in my car just in case of that very thing!

like many of the others here, I learned to read very young, and am an official speed reader with freakishly-high comprehension (& a PhD in English) but back before ANY of that, I remember reading was like some sweet SECRET, you did it all alone (unlike watching TV), at your own pace, just you and this really incredible thing--a story! and you could magically turn black marks on a page into detailed, moving pictures in your mind, however you wanted, re-wind, re-play, vary it next time--SO much better than TV.
-
Yes, always. I started to read at a very young age and spent much of my childhood with my nose in a book.
-
Yes, I've been reading since before kindergarten and haven't stopped yet. Stephen King and Bentley Little are two of my favorites!!!

Yeah..and i still do...people at school thought i was crazy for it (i read more of novels and such stuff rather than school-texts)...now i'm the one laughing at them!!

Sitting down with a quality magazine such as National Geographic can be satisfying and relaxing. Magazines like 'People' that are geared to supposed stars is a total turnoff.

A a child, I loved it. Then I hit 16 and since then I have had to do so much reading for school that it took the joy out of it. It really became a chore. I do enjoy it now, but not to the level I did before eduation destroyed my love of reading!
