Why do corn seed company lobbyists want to prohibit American farmers from growing hemp?

It was originally the cotton growers. Hemp is a versatile crop that scares the crop (get it?) of the food industry.

Because no one's created a motor that runs on weed. And if they did the government still wouldn't allow it because they would think everyone would simply 'grow' their own fuel. But seriously... If farmers start growing hemp, that means less land is available for corn. Less corn, less money in their pockets. It's that simple.
