Really all the ones I have know moan about how much they 'don't' have :D

I'd say they don't live in my state. When I first started teaching ten years ago, I was making less than I'd made on my last job (grooming horses and mucking stalls) with the same benefits. That is a pretty sad state when shoveling manure with a high school diploma pays more than teaching kids with 21 hours toward a master's. Either your state pays more than mine, or that teacher is lying, or they have something on the side. Apparently there is a rising trend of criminal activity among teachers and I'm not surprised. When the job becomes so difficult that no one wants it, then the people who are left are the ones no one wants. The last year I taught, the teacher in the room next to me was busted for dealing drugs before the end of the year. That is one of the MANY factors in my decision to home school.

Not much, people that brag about anything are immature and usually lack self esteem.

Depends, is he bragging because he has saved his money and has a fat IRA, or is he bragging for some other reason. Maybe he is just getting ready to retire and doesn't care who knows it. Most teachers I know, including me, don't get paid much until they've been teaching for a very lloooooonnngggg time.

Look at me, Look at me! Sounds like an attention whore. Bragging is in poor taste, about money or anything else.
