In the interview for my job we agreed the earliest time i could start is 9AM. They want me to work earlier than this so i told my manager but she just moaned and denied that i even have hours that i chose to work within..isn't this breaking the contract?

Employers kind of have their workers by the balls right now due to the scarcity of jobs. Yes it does seem like a contract was broken but I don't know what you could really do about it.

You got this in writing, yes?

You are correct. This was a hiring condition. You are within your rights to make them stick to this condition.

I would suggest that you and your manager speak together with HR about what can be done here (if anything).
