  • Nice slippery slope argument. It doesn't apply, but I'll admit its a better question than asking when you will be able to marry your dog.
  • Only if women have the same rights to have 6 husbands.
  • Hopefully not too long, there are some bangin hotties I'd like to bring home to meet my wife.
  • It will be re-legalized within 10-12 years. The age of prejudice, intolerance, and bigotry is ending. Polygamy is just as old and just as valid as monogamy. It's not a slippery slope argument. It should have never become illegal.
  • It's not going to happen. Not as long as we have such a major percentage of the population claiming that we're a Christian nation.
  • I hadn't heard of any lobby groups working to bring this about? Do you folks have lobbyists?
  • As soon as we get rid of all the bigots.
  • When will same sex marriage be legalized in Mississippi and Alabama? A loooooong time from now. They won't legalize polygamy until after the same-sex thing is over. It's wrong not to but don't hold your breath.
  • After, but it will happen. Bigotry and discrimination is being tolerated less and less. Some people don't even realize how bigoted they are until people start to insist on their rights. It happened with minorities, now homosexuals. Freedom to live and marry as one chooses will be the next frontier.
  • If same-sex is legalized, why not polygamy, except it would be harder to be on welfare, get our tax money and food stamps. +4
  • 15 years, maybe 20.
  • I dunno, but the day they do, i will take my children and leave this country for the safety of my kids and grandkids. I cant bear the thought of my daughter being raped, beaten or enslaved by some klan of misogynistic old men.
  • They are not even remotely the same. 1. Same sex marriage is DESIRED by both parties. No one has been indoctrinated into this belief system. 2. Polygamy is a male ruled, brainwashinng that is as close to a crime as sex slavery as it can get. It will never be legalized. It is a form of slavery and brainwashing. If a few women wish to be married to the same guy, that is not what I am talking about here. I am talking about actual cults that practice this male dominated world of mysoginy.
  • I would say it's legal right now. Look at it this way. A couple (same or different sex) can live together without any marriage license or ceremony. One man can live with more than one woman and one woman can live with more than one man. As long as nobody says they are all married, they can do it. The trouble comes if someone decides to say he/she is married to more than one person. But if nobody uses the word "marriage", many people can live together, under the same roof, have children, do all the things that might occur in a polygamous relationship, and nobody will object (though some noses might get out of joint). Assuming, of course, the relationships are voluntary.
