Whoa... Have to go with both. Its nice to lay-out and get that tan. Then you need the wind down time... aka: sitting under the stars with a lovely campfire. Sounds amazing right now... And its the perfect weather! :)

Camping, no fire, just a dark and clear star-filled sky, with me lounging in my jammies hoping to catch lots of shooting stars and overhead satellites.

I would take laying on the beach at night watching the stars at night anytime. You can people watch just about any place. But to watch the stars at night on the beach is great, and you won't get as bad a stiff neck as you would if you were sitting and looking up at the stars.
