I think the platypus has a poisonous spur near its hind leg, whereas as cats don't. Therefore, I would say no.

I doubt it. Most wild animals don't make good house pets. Racoons are a good example.

Do you own a river in Australia with a house on it? Then don't do it. You will croak the poor fella.

I believe the Platypus is more at home in the water than your lap. You will need a very large aquarium and some training in their care and feeding. You are fortunate that Ohio does not regulate private ownership of exotic pets.
