I'm not aware of any direct way of doing this, but I know you could accomplish this by using audio editing software. I would generally use "Sound Forge" to do this, but you would have to buy that at the store. You could try the free program called "Audacity." You can download it free from http://audacity.sourceforge.net and there are training files and manuals available from the same link. This program will let you cut a portion of the song and save it as a new file. You could even add a fade-in and a fade-out if you want. Then once you create the new file that contains the portion of the song you want to use, just burn that file to the CD.
It depends on what type of file it is. You can get free programs online to edit various types of files. Then you just have to cut out the part you want and save it to a new file.
the volume control. maybe you could turn it off as you are copying.
