Help answer this question below.

Do the outside edges of the Foul Lines in Baseball line up with the outside edges of 1B and 3B, thus going "over" the base? Or, are they supposed to go along side the outside edge of the bases? I have seen it both ways many places. Which is correct?

    If the field is lined properly, the outer edge of the foul line matches the outer edge of the base. The lines and the base are in fair territory. The foul lines are actually "fair lines."

    If the lines run along so they are outside of the base, then the lines themselves are actually in foul territory and the field is not properly marked.
