Would collection agencies have more money if they didn't spend so much on postage stamps, and paying employees to call people?

Possibly but what incentive would debtors have to pay if nobody wrote to them or called them?

Anyway, they buy your debt for a lowish percentage from the original creditor so they are usually quids in!
