I have a GM and am not worried because it's out of warranty, but I am looking at new cars and the bankruptcy issues with these companies are serious negatives on my consideration list.

I don't own one of their cars, but I worried about the ripple effect in the economy their bankruptcies will have. Thousands of small and medium sized companies supply things to those companies. Then there's the businesses where all those employees spend their money. It's a vicious circle that could have dire consequences if it's unalterably disrupted.

I am not worried because of the vehicle, but because my grandfather retired from GM and relies on them.

I don't go to a dealer and I use aftermarket parts, so no, I don't care. My GMC truck is a '93.

Nah. The thing is 10 years old. I get all my parts aftermarket. If I really NEED something, there's always the Pick-A-Part.
