I heard on our local TV station on Memorial Day that Riverside, California has lost the most young people in the current wars than any other city in America. That surprised me and if it is true then we are at the top of a most unfortunate list. We remembered those who are no longer in our lives. We spent a quiet day at home. We watched some tennis but it was very low-key..no celebration. :)

I am retired so no work for me anyway. I just spent a nice day home washing windows and drapes/curtains and shades it was fun all the way around.

I bought a bed on memorial day. I don't know if that counts as celebrating.

Oh, yes. Four generations of our family gathered at our lake house, with half a dozen neighbours. We raised the flag, had barbecue and beer, and sang patriotic songs.

I worked, but also enjoyed the day. I had some wonderful customers who brought me some great BBQ to eat at work since I had to work. It was very thoughtful of them.
