I think that is just silly. Like there are not more important things wrong in this world to worry over such crap. I rarely smile for a photo anyway so I most likely would not but not because of some silly law. I think when they come up with stupid laws it is time we put new people in the position to make laws.

i would totally smirk. or pout. ha! i think that order is obnoxious. i detest micromanagement by the government and the slow but sure stripping away of our freedoms and civil liberties. i thought this country was founded on the declaration of independence which stated our inalienable rights included life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. didnt they infringe on 2 of the 3 with this stupid order? shouldnt we be free to smile if we are happy? why should we be forced to take mugshot photos? arent we supposed to be innocent until proven guilty? why do they need to identify us with facial recognition software? i think its invasive and there are broader implications here ~ its not just about driver license fraud. its yet another means by which big brother can track our every move. whats next ~ forced microchip implants like they place in pets? puhleeze.

I think a smile in a photo is fine and they should not have the right to make you not smile. There is no laws on the books that say you can't smile.

I think you ought to be photographed with a steering wheel in front of you, and a bare toothed grimace.
Or - with an air bag in front of your face - as that is how some people might recognise you

I never have yet in almost 40 years of licensed driving. If I need to show it to a cop, I won't be smiling, so why should my picture?

I'm sure I did when I got my first one. I think I smiled for a week.

I give a half-a**ed grin, but no teeth and it barely changes my face.
