1) Language and culture barriers. Some of those culture barriers are not thought of as such though, but if I talked about boring something 2 over then you might be lost since you are not savvy to the machining trade. 2) If you don't seem like you know what you are talking about, why should anybody else take you seriously? 3) Words can lie, but gestures and facial expressions are more accurate indicators of what someone is *really* thinking.
