a college professor, yes...i like to speak in front of people...i think the most i've ever spoke in front of was about 250.

Been there, done that. It's no big deal. Giving a lecture at a conference with 500 people though, is much more nerve wracking.

When I first got out of university, I taught private school for one year. It was okay----you just had to be tough and not get nervous, otherwise you tended to forget your lesson. Also, if you looked unsure, the kids knew it and would start to act up. Teaching was a rewarding experience, but it required a great deal of energy, and the pay was so-so. I remember the first month I lost my voice due to speaking so loudly for hours each day, and I often got sick with colds and the flu.

Yes i definitly could see myself doing that in the years to come.

I'm studying to be either a college professor or NP (haven't made that decision yet). As for the talking/lecturing in front of a class thing - been there, done that.

A few years after graduation I was substitute teaching in Arizona. I liked it so much that I went back to school to get the education courses needed for an elementary teaching certificate. Trying to get a good teaching gig proved to be difficult. So after two years teaching in bad situations, I gave up and went back to engineering work in California where I sometimes taught adults. Teaching is one of those professions where you can start out on fire for the job satisfaction until the school board and administrators knock it out of you.
