Nope, my dads bi polar, i think my mom has some serious emotional problems, my grandparents are racist something crazy... i think my generation is the only sane part of the family
-
Yes I think I have , that means they are mentally strong not mentally bright :) Although most of them are quite bright
-
Yes, relatively. Although most of my extended family excommunicated my father when he had an affair which in turn distanced me from them as well. My parents are divorced and my father is still with the same woman. Also, my 22 year old cousin just got out of jail after doing 6 years for burglary. The whole extended family got together when he got out. Nothing like someone being released from prison to bring the whole family together. :P Lastly my mother had a rough childhood (I think she's bipolar) and at one point was voluntarily in an institution for a few weeks. But she's doing very well now and is living with someone who is studying psychology.

My family always had TREMENDOUS potential for good mental health; operative word "potential". They have (and have passed on) certain qualities which are phenomenal when it comes to coping with "life". That shared, they are a bit obsessed with what others might think or say about them and they remain rigidly fixed about spiritual matters which ask one to relax his point of view and consider the validity of other points of view. That one belief manifests itself in some very unconscious, compassionless behavior.

Hahahaha oh the very idea of calling any of them mental fit brings tears of laughter to my eyes! No, they are not mentally healthy as a whole or individually. In fact, they are just disturbing
-
My immediate family is sane. Or at least close enough for government work. But my ancestry is riddled with histories of mental and emotional problems. Alot of the men on my mum's side have been very troubled, and very few of them turned out well. And my dad's side is from a long line of control freaks, cynics, and outright obsessives. So I geuss I'm doomed either way, huh?

I'd like to think that my family is mentally healthy- for the most part, anyway. My mom is a bright chick, my brother has always been a smart cookie, and my sister definitely isn't getting the short end of the stick. That said, my immediate family's mentality ranks about a B on a scale, while anyone aside from them could use a little polishing. Notice that I haven't mentioned myself while answering this question, lol...

Hells no! My (biological) father was a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. Good thing I haven't een him since I was 4 or 5. My mother has a guilt complex from Hell because she took so long to rescue me from him. I married into better. My mother-in-law has Borderline Personality Disorder, my brother-in-law is so ADHD he can't help but engage in criminal behavior.
-
NO WAY. My father has passive aggressive disorder. I suspect my mother is a developing undifferentiated schizophrenic. My stepfather and mother are both alcoholics. My grandmother is a paranoid schizophrenic. My sister has social adjustment disorders that make her emotionally unstable. I hope Im fine... I just run away from them!
-
Absolutley. There is nothing mentally wrong with any of us..... Now my ex and his family that's a different story.
-
on the side of my boilogical mother i do, on the side of my second mother, i most definitely don't.
-

-

-
Nope, me mam's mad, me da's dippy, me man's manic, the cat's cracked up, the dog's dopey and Denise (me) is Dense.
-
Oh my...a lot of disconnected, denial-laden, disenchanted folks in my tree. We have a history of depression and schizophrenia. Some of us keep striving for peace within, though, Trying to find the pieces of the puzzle and looking for the best in others and ourselves.
-
Cool Question: I have no bro a twisted sister an atheist dad and a divorced mom who works both sides. its just sane crazy
-
Not especially. We have a lot of depression incidence, and also anxiety disorders.
-
I thought my family was nuts until I read some of the answers to this question. I will deal with my clincally depressed mother and dementia-ridden grandma and my hypertensed father who is slowly killing himself over any of these families. Thank you for making my day a little better.
-
yes apart fom me
-
On average yes. I'm the only one in my entire family that has any mental disorders, and I have plenty. It's like I got all the ones that others should have.
-
hahahaha...not at all. the only one close to being healthy, mentally, is deep in denial.
-
No.
-
in my dreams they are!
-
Does my insane mother count? If not...well still no
-
No.
-
Actually I am the most mentally healthy of all ..my therapist says so.. LOL.. seriously I am. I don't live in a world of denial and fairy tales and let's deny it happened and it will all go away..
-
Definitely not.
