Mississippi says I can make wine for my own use, but that home brewing beer is "not statutorily recognized" does this mean I can or cannot home brew beer in MS?

    it means that it is not recogized by state law, but it also means if they don't know, it won't hurt you.

    Judging by the way the phrase is stated, you cannot make beer. The statutes do not recognize beer brewing for home use as being legal, is how I read it.

    I have been making beer for years and have never had any problems. I make it for my own consumption and don't make excessive amounts. I never sell it. I also purchase supplies through mail order and they are delivered without incident. Live a little and go for it.
