    Haggling does not mean the same as bartering. I have often haggled with people who didn't speak English. As long as they use Arabic numbers like we do, one simply writes down the numbers on a piece of paper. One in Zambia, I added the biro pen I was using to the deal to clinch the price. This then became an example of barter, which is when you swap an object other than money for something.

    I have not, but I've seen someone else doing it.
    Fingers were used to indicate the amount one was willing to pay. I was just happy that the wrong fingers were not used ;-)
