There is no such thing as a "mini" water turtle or a miniature turtle. Each species will get as big as it's supposed to get, and all get to be at least 3" as adults - most of the ones in the pet trade get to be 4-12". The most commonly sold baby turtles are the little green baby red-eared sliders. They start off tiny and green and can grow to be 6-12" and turn darker as they get older. If it's a green baby turtle, trust me, it DOES NOT stay small if you care for it properly. An adult slider needs at least a 55 gallon tank, and most need a larger tank than that.
