The profession should be noble in nature. Pursuing it should not cause any harm to anyone. The profession must have scope for self improvement. The profession must provide for the basic daily needs. It must give enough exercise both to the body and mind. The profession must be one that suits our natural inclinations. Usurping on another's profession or stealing another's would disqualify it for prestige status. Above all the profession must provide for peace of mind. It should keep the practitioner away from limelight and fame. Fortunately for me I have finally found one such prestigious profession for myself. I have taken up farming at the fag end of my working life.

It isn't the profession, it is the person. I know a janitor for whom I have more respect and love than an MBA V.P. of Finance who graduated from Harvard. It isn't the job, it's the person who holds that job that matters to me. :)

Our minds are as different as our finger prints - no two are identical. Palmistry also says the same thing. Every human is unique. Not only do our organs differ, but our personalities differ. If I do the best of what I can, my profession appears to me as prestigious. But that is only a relative term. Self satisfaction in profession gives Ananda - it can not be defined in words.
