I don't know. Did Christians steal all of their ideas from the Jews? That might be a good place to start your investigation.
My understanding is more or less a progression of ideas. There were religious 'texts' of sorts preceding The Old Testament, no?
BTW: Using a word like "steal" is not only unnecessarily inflamatory, but simply an inacurate verb in this case. Most, if not all ideas are built on others. Dig?
Peace.
Throughout the ages many philosophers wrote and spoke of similar ideas. This includes ancient Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese.
Mohammed, the Jews, and Christians are all relative new comers to the world of religion, and therefore their ideas often can be found in earlier writings.
oh no!!!!!!!not u again.it's SAIF remember me????i will b back soon 2 to with something special.......don't worry i m talking about knowledge brother. what i did 2 to before, sorry 4 that.i support discussing religion openly but without being ensured don't blame any prophet by calling THIEF. after all they r prophets.
of course there r some similarities between QURAN an BIBLE. but u know what?????? what is more scientific?????? what is reliable and accurate???u can't change QURAN,not even a verse but judge between a 500 years old BIBLE and todays there will b many changes.same 2 the jews books. but judge a quran as powerful as it was 1400 years ago.
that's all for today. i will let u know everything later. ASSALAMUALAIKUM.(MAY PEACE BE WITH YOU).
yes..the prophet muhammed was a traveling salesman for lack of a better description..he had traveled to many countries and knew of both the jewish faith as well as the christian faith..90% of quran is taken directly from the jewish and christian scriptures..the resthe just added because well he wanted to form an army that had allegiances to him alone..he needed peoplethat would follow him in his conquest of africa and europe
Yes and added some of his own like compulsory circumcision for girls and boys
No. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was given words by Gabriel from God. The Holy Qur'an is the pure word of God alone. Not one word has been changed since it's inception. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the last prophet and God's last words were for him. Salaam
Not all of them.
Nop..
Since Christianity predates Islam he would not have been the first.
please notice that all prophecies are made by Jewish prophets BEFORE the birth of christ..some are mentioned again in the new testament, but all originated in the old.
Did they ALL steal their ideas from Zoroastrians?
Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)couldn't read. He was illiterate.
Also, the first Arabic translation of the Bible was published in the 10th century. Prophet Muhammad(saw) didn't know any other language, and neither did his tribe.
The most successful prophets are the ones that had the best line of b.s. Since Mohamed was preceded by a large number of stellar prophets, can you blame him for "borrowing" some of their material? It's human nature. Some comedians make a career out of stolen ideas and routines.
I'm not calling prophets comedians, their material wasn't likely to create laughter. We would have been better off if it had.
I gave you a couple points because your question is interesting but not the full compliment because I think it was meant to be inflammatory.
Mo did not know how to read... there is much evidence in the koran that he got many stories mixed up... or allah got it mixed up... or...
.
The word allah came years after the first so called revelation. It was the name of a pagen god fashioned from a black meteor rock.
Hmmm...no, what that tells me is that the Jews wrote all of those books
What is the prophet mohammed's flight in the quran called?

You're reading Did the prophet mohammed steal all his ideas from the books of the jews and christians?

Christ was a Jew so your telling me he stole from HIS own religion to create a new one--yes--but he also had voices in his head--the mad kind. Why is everybody so sensitive towards Islam in particular. Am not a man born free to question reality and not believe in delusional religions (all of them)---without th ethreat of vengeance from insecure fanatics that move to violence like uneducated football thugs.

Yes and Jesus was a practicing Jew. Christians practice a religion about Jesus, not the religion of Jesus. Jesus didn't write any of it down and those who did started years after he was dead.

exactly--all made up--like all religions--have a happy death its final.Boo Hoo

christians didnot STEAL from jewish scripture..we believe jewish scripture word for word..we added to it, and in fact completed it..as Jesus was the Jewish Messiah..some Jews accepted him and became followers, some did not..it is like that with all religions..in fact the most accurate followers of christ (christians) are actually the messianic jews or the jews for jesus , two jewish groups that recognize christ as lord and savior.

Catherine: I'm not making any claims here about theft or adaptation of scripture--I'm simply probing the questioner to understand what he's claiming. Christians only accept some Jewish scripture, Roman Catholics more than other Christian religions. There's no such thing as the Jewish Messiah. That the Jews were/are waiting for one is a Christian construct. The Jews did call many people Messiah--it simply meant a chosen one of God. Of the more than 38,000 Christian denominations, how can you pick these two Jewish ones as being most accurate? If it's that obvious, why aren't Christians converting to them by the millions?
by dichosa on May 24th, 2009
christian accept all jewish scripture...the additional scripture that catholics accept has very little to do with anything except the catholics beliefs that enough was done to authenticate the origins of the scripture...we do not deny any jewish scripture..we just are very careful as to what writings we accept as 100% truth because of the many forgeries overthe years...my bible has more jewish scripture in it than christian scripture as the old testament is by far longer..

and if you read the book of daniel....this JEWISH prophet was very clear in predicting the messiah ..and told of many JEWISH prophecies he would full fill.

please read this link..it tells of all of the JEWISH..prophets and their prophecies of the coming messiah

Catherine: I know what Christian apologists did to "prove" that Jesus was a prophesied messiah. You need to read some of the history and understand that the Jews were not expecting a messiah and still are not. To claim so for them is the equivalent to the claims that Sun Myung Moon is the expected messiah that the Christians are waiting for. Moon's got plenty of Old and New Testament scripture to back up his claims too. You only know the claims of your particular denomination and you've accepted the writings of that group. When you've actually studied the bible in a scholarly fashion and know what the different groups claimed and are claiming you will be able to make an interesting argument for your beliefs. In the meantime, if you could compare and contrast the beliefs of some of the early Christian groups say the Marcionites, Ebonites, and Gnostics and throw in a bit about why more than 60 gospels were rejected from the canon, I'd begin to respect your claims.

well I think you better tell that to the jews...see I am a Brooklyn girl....and there are more jews in brooklyn than non jews..it is like being in israel...and well they are expecting a messiah..the reason why they rejected Jesus, is because they thought the messiah would come and defeat the romans and give the land of israel overto the jews to rule....they are still waiting for this messiah and believe he will come in the end days....

so the Jews are expecting a messiah well said Cathy the average--and you dichosa get your facts right or i'll thrash myself
by The Prophet on May 24th, 2009
Well in my hurry to get to the airport and still fit my answer into 1000 characters, I accidentally dropped off an important part of my answer. I had originally written, "The Jews were not expecting a messiah who would suffer and die for our sins" When I didn't have enough room to get my answer in, I meant to change it to "The Jews were not expecting a Jesus like messiah" but ended up cutting out too much. I really hate the 1000 character limit and I hate answering over several comments. Anyway the Jews were not and are not expecting a messiah who would suffer and die for our sins--and the Old Testament doesn't say so, no matter how the Christians claim it does--any more than Sun Moon can support his claims to be the second coming of Jesus. Of course you caught my error but ignored the rest of what I said.
by dichosa on May 25th, 2009
What is this obsession with Sun Moon that you have--does he bother you--just another delusional liar in the history of religion--we're alone get used to it.
by The Prophet on May 25th, 2009
Oh, we're in agreement on that. Do you think most Christians accept Sun Moon as the second coming of Jesus? I think at about the same rate that Jews accept Jesus as the promised messiah.
by dichosa on May 25th, 2009
wow....that is all I have to say.. and wanna be prophet...I am by far more than average..but I did not give myself that name...it is a nick name my oldest son gave me..and I think it is cute..by the way, some one as arrogant as to claim to be a prophet should really not cast stones at other people's screen names
