Catowners: Have you bought one of the self-cleaning litter pans? Do you like it? Was it worth the money? What do you cats think of it?

    I have two cats, buy my mom never bought those self-cleaning litter boxes, because of one reason. The lady that works with my cat's veteranarian had one, and one day, it just cought fire, because a mechanism inside of it didn't work properly, luckily she was home to put it out. I've heard that those things are dangerous, I wouldn't trust my cats using it, they could get hurt by it in my opinion.
