There is talk of California breaking up into for new states,one being the San Diego area,LA area,San Fransisco area and northern California. What do you think of this idea?

Never happen. And even if it did, we'd just get more liberal seats in congress.

LOL the state is broke. We can't afford to pay our bills, splitting up isn't an option. +2

I could handle it, as long as Catalina Island became a separate state, like Rhode "Island."

First of all, California is in no physical condition to do anything, right now. the state is near bankruptcy and needs federal money too bad. Second, Tennessee is divided into three geological sections...eastern, middle and west Tennessee. this is not an official separation, since the Governor still controls the entire state. The idea is okay, but officailly, i do not think it will ever happen.

And since they are already beyond broke, who is going to pay for this expensive new idea?
