It would drop off the universe. Earth is held in orbit by the centrifugal force of the sun. It's like a ball attached to the end of a string. If you twirl the string over you head, the ball will go round and round. If you stop twirling, it dropps off.

"one day" implies that it will slow within a 24 hour period and that means that the law of enertia will be tossing us all east at a rate = to or greater than 69.76666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666667 km/h..... if you are in a valley you might get thrown into space before hitting anything but the odds of this similar to the odds that humans evolve into skeleton-less blobs capable of kissing thier ass goodbye.
