Why is my computer making a sound similar to that of a helicopter?

If your cpu tower fan is off balance often, from being dirty, it will wobble and make alot of noise. If you know how to taker the tower off and use a compressed air can to blow the fan (s) clean, I would try that.

If you cannot do this, call someone who knows computers, since it could be something more severe, in which case the sooner you find out you might be better off and save some money and also data.

Mine does too, and I noticed that it is the fault of the cd drive. It vibrates uncontrollably and can be heard across the house. It was just a loose piece of plastic for me.

those small black helicopters are everywhere!!! Otherwise a problem with cooling fan, clean or replace.

- the black helicopters, I would leave for the military to handle, the cooling fan would depend on type of computer and location of fan. Top off (the computer) locate and isolate fan and use can of compressed air (no pressure washer this time) and blow so dust and other crap goes away from innards of computer.
