  • It depends, my friend on whether or not the children are yours! I have 2 young children (4 & 5) and I'm cursed with the same problem. My wife goes ape when I take my daughter to town to buy her a pair of slippers, then come back with her wearing a completely new outfit and me carrying the rest! Speaking from experience, we're making rods for our own backs. I have started telling them no, and resisting the tears. It's hard, but you CAN DO IT!!
  • Think about what's best for them, not what they merely want.
  • Yes ... even though it's difficult, kids need structure and guidance (as well as love) in their lives. Sometimes adults have to the "bad guys" and not just playmates to their kids. Adults aren't doing children any favor by giving them the impression that they will get everything they want in this world. As long as that is tempered with love and understanding .. it's the right thing to do and helps to prepare them for the real world.
  • its hard but just say "i better not" or "you need to ask your parents".
