Help answer this question below.

I have two female 3 year gerbils. Yes, I know they have reached life expectancy. The larger of the two has a swollen belly. It's like someone blew it up. Does anyone know why?

    It is probably starting to experience organ failure. Just keep it comfortable and don't overfeed it.

    My sister's hamster had that at the end of his lifespan, she took him to the vet and the vet said that it was a tumor and he needed to be put down.
