Languages don't get invented..they develop. English is a development, with much influence from French and Latin (historical reasons) from Anglo Saxon, which in itself was a development from Germanic, a branch of the enormous Indo-European language famiy, flourishing in the Caucasus region c 3000 BC. Something happened which sent the family in many directions: some went to Europe and became the Germanic, Italic, Greek,Celtic and Slavic peoples, others went towards the Indian subcontinent and became the ancestors of the Iranians, the Pakistanis, Nepalis, Bengalis, Afghans and North Indians.
