I wouldn't want to think that about my doctor before surgery.

Now days, a degree in anything does not mean a person will make lots of money. College was hard enough. I chose to major in something I enjoyed. I do not regret it either. I do not make a lot of money. I have learned there is much more to life then that.

Money makes the world go round... So yes I would if it meant more money.

I wouldn't want to face many years of working in a field I didn't like, even if I was making a lot of money.

Yeah, if I earned enough so that I'd never have to work again after about 5 years. ;)

Studying and working in a career you don't like is equivalent to a life sentence. Under such conditions you will not be able to earn very much money because if you don't like it you will not be good at it. . What makes people earn very much in a certain career is passion and dedication, but without the necessary love for your career there will never be success.

I can understand making sure you have skills (computers, lifeguard, accounting, health care, plumbing) that will guarantee employment even in bad times just in case. I know people who have become doctors to get the big payday. They were never great doctors and never enjoyed their work - often got out as soon as they met financial goals. Me personally, I wouldn't go there. I'd try to make the extra money through outside interests, business, investments, hobbies and spend the bulk of my day doing what suited my talents that someone will pay me to do.
